Brief Description: Applications are now open for international students to apply for the University of Brighton scholarships. For 2017 entry, there are 30 University of Brighton international scholarships available to new, full-time international postgraduate taught-degree students.

Value of Scholarship: The scholarship is worth £5,000 off the cost of students’ tuition fees for each year of your course.

Eligibility: To be eligible, candidate must:
  • be new, full-time, international fee-status student who holds an offer of admission.
  • have applied for the course of your choice at the University of Brighton, and have been offered a place on that course for 2016 entry.
  • Students studying graduate diplomas, pre-masters programmes, or equivalent, at University of Brighton partner colleges or those on PG Cert and PG Dip courses (excluding OSPAP, Law CPE PGDip and Accounting PGDip) are not eligible for these scholarships.
  • These scholarships are not open to students who are fully sponsored.
  • Existing international students are also not eligible unless starting a new postgraduate programme.
Selection Criteria: 
  • The criteria for awarding University of Brighton international scholarships are primarily merit-based. Merit does not necessarily have to mean academic merit but could also be interpreted to include outstanding performance in a variety of spheres.
  • The strongest candidates will be those demonstrating a mixture of academic merit (including English language ability) and other merit or outstanding achievement in a particular field of activity. 
  • Candidate will also need to show that they have sufficient funds to pay the remainder of the fees.

About Scholarship
The Melbourne Research Scholarship (MRS) was established by the University of Melbourne and is awarded to high achieving domestic and international research students. The University awards over 300 scholarships per year.


From 2016, the Melbourne International Research Scholarship (MIRS) is part of the Melbourne Research Scholarship program.

Eligibility: To be considered for the Melbourne Research Scholarship, you must:
  • have applied for and meet the entry requirements for a Master or Doctorate by research degree at the University of Melbourne, or be currently enrolled in a research degree at the University of Melbourne and have at least 12 months (full-time equivalent) of candidature remaining, and
  • have not already completed a research qualification at the same or higher level as the course for which a scholarship is sought.

Selection Criteria: Melbourne Research Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit. Eligible applicants are scored and ranked according to their academic achievement of their last completed degree and their research potential in their field of study. Factors such as relevant professional experience, refereed publications, specialist medical qualifications or composition of original music may be taken into consideration.

Number of Scholarships: The University awards 35 scholarships per year.

Value of Scholarship:The Melbourne Research Scholarship provides the following benefits:
  • a living allowance of $26,288 per year (2016 full-time pro-rata rate)/$26,916 per year (2017 full-time pro-rata rate)
  • a relocation grant of $2,000 for students who need to move from outside Victoria or $3,000 for students who need to move from outside Australia to study at the University of Melbourne
  • a thesis allowance of up to $420 for students undertaking a Master by research degree or up to $840 for students undertaking a Doctoral degree (where submission of a hard copy is a completion requirement)
  • limited paid sick, maternity and parenting leave

Duration of Scholarship: The duration of the Melbourne Research Scholarship is two years for students undertaking a Master by research degree and three years, with a possible six month extension, for students undertaking a Doctorate by research degree.

PhD scholarship in International Marketing At Aalborg University in Denmark 2017

The Aalborg University is offering PhD scholarship in International Marketing. This scholarship is open to Danish and international students within the Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Business and Management.
A good proficiency in English is required in order to be able to teach in English and to prepare the PhD-thesis in English. For non-Danish speaking applicants, it is expected that they take Danish language courses.

How to apply: The mode of applying is online. Applications for enrolment and allocation of scholarship must include the following:
  • Letter of motivation
  • Project proposal (approx. 5 pages (A4)) containing the research project title, an outline of the course of study and a description of the overall problem areas.
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Diplomas confirming academic degrees (Bachelor and Master degrees), including transcripts.
  • A copy of the applicant’s Master’s degree thesis and published articles (if any).
  • Foreign applicants must forward verify IELTS test (International English Language Testing System). Exempted are applicants with a Master’s Degree from Denmark, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and Canada.
  • Co-author statement. If publications that have been written in cooperation with others are submitted, a declaration from each of the authors must be enclosed. The declaration must state the extent of the applicant’s contribution to the total work and be signed by the authors.
